International Committee

The International Committee (INCO) is the most important organ within the Young Democrats for international affairs. The goal of the INCO is to be a forum to discuss international topics. For this purpose, we organise a regular INCO-meeting every 6 weeks on Friday evenings. In these meetings, our international projects are discussed and attendees are being informed about other international happenings. Every meeting also hosts a deeper discussion on a current international topic. Apart from these regular meetings, the INCO offers many possibilities to its members and other interested youth to get internationally involved.

You can, for instance, participate in or organise excursions to the European Parliament or the International Court of Justice. You can also write articles about international topics such as EU-China relations, participate in debates on international law, or attend congresses of our umbrella organizations within Europe (LYMEC) and around the globe (IFLRY), and many other things. In short: anything is possible! 

The International committee (INCO) is open to every member of the JD and led by the International Board. The board organizes the regular INCO-meetings and our international activities, in co-operation with our local branches, national and our (international) partner-organizations. This is being done in close co-operation with the International Officer of the National Board of the Young Democrats. Apart from its board, the INCO has no official members.

The Board of the International Committee

Members of the Board of the International Committee are elected individually by the Congress, the highest statutory body of the Young Democrats. After the Spring Congress in April 2010, the Board of the International Committee consist of three members:

Everyone with an interest in international affairs can participate in our activities. For internationally interested Young Democrats, we host a mailing list to spread relevant information and announcements. For other interested people, as well as for our international contacts, a monthly international newsletter including news, articles, activities and summons concerning relevant international events.
